Don't Underestimate the Dreaded Bed Bath

As a first year Registered Nursing (RN) student one of the first skills to learn and to be checked off is the dreaded full or partial bed bath.

I can remember approaching that skill as virtually no big deal and really watering down its importance. Giving a bed bath takes no great skill on the nursing stand point. All the skill requires is gathering a couple washcloths, warm water in a basin with soap and some towels to dry off the patient afterwards.

So why is such an easy skill so dreaded and something that is usually pawned off on the nurse assistants?
