Preparing for the NBRC's CRT and RRT Examinations

If you’re like many graduates, you feel overwhelmed with all the material you have learned over the past 2-4 years of your respiratory care education and hardly know where to start in your preparation and study for your exams.

This article provides some suggestions on how to make the best use of your study time and how to study more effectively.

  1. Familiarize yourself with what material the exam covers.
    The National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) provides a detailed content outline of the subject matter they test on for every exam they administer. It’s referred to as the Content Matrix and it lists three content categories that detail what topics you may be tested on. You can go to the NBRC website at nbrc.org and print off the matrix for the exam you are preparing to take.
