Mosby's Radiography Online
Mosby's Radiography Online (MRO) offers a significant portion of the total curriculum solution for radiography programs. MRO: Introduction to Imaging Sciences and Patient Care is one of eight courses in a "suite" of online courses for radiography educational programs covering subject areas mandated by the ASRT Core Curriculum. This course provides an introduction to medical imaging and an orientation to the profession. This course also introduces the basic concepts of patient care, including consideration for the physical and emotional needs of the patient and the patient's family, communication and patient interactions, routine and emergency patient care procedures, infection control procedures utilizing standard precautions, the role of the radiographer in patient education, ethics in healthcare, and the different roles of the healthcare team.
Description
You will find many great features in MRO: Introduction to Imaging Sciences and Patient Care, including:
- Fifteen modules follow a consistent organizational structure, which includes an introduction, key terms, section overviews, section objectives, self-assessing activities, summations, section reviews, and gradable section quizzes.
- Section objectives articulate the goal of each section for outcome-based learning with content and assessments carefully mapped to learning objectives.
- Tutoring feature (summation) allows for review of content introduced on previous screen(s) before proceeding to new material. Student types in the answer to a question that pertains to content on a previous screen. If the answer is incorrect, a link is provided that takes the student directly to the screen with the answer content.
- Key terms in each module link to a glossary with audio pronunciation; the glossary link is also embedded in the navigation for access at any point in the module.
- Animations, slideshows, and video clips with audio narrations communicate difficult concepts that are impossible to convey with static illustrations.
- Interactive activities within each section provide an opportunity for students to self-assess what they have learned before taking a quiz.
- End of section quizzes measure learning outcomes based on the content in individual sections, rather than all at once at the end of the module, providing an excellent review to determine additional study needs before taking the exam. Results are recorded in the instructor's gradebook.
- Hypertext links direct student to related areas and resources for further study.
- End of module exams are great preparation for the accrediting exam.
