Cecily L. Betz, PhD, RN, FAAN, serves as the Director of Nursing Training, University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities. For more than 30 years, she has worked with ill children, adolescents, and families in the roles of clinician, educator, administrator, and researcher. The editor-in-chief of the Journal of Pediatric Nursing for the past 20 years, she has published extensively on health care transition planning for adolescents with special health care needs and on issues related to pediatric nursing. Her textbook, Pediatric Nursing Reference, is in its 5th edition.


Patricia A. Castaldi, RN, MSN, is director of the Practical Nursing Program at Union County College, which is located on four campuses in New Jersey. Offering 25 years of experience in nursing education, she has worked extensively with students preparing to graduate and take the NCLEX exam. She has also written and developed many study guides and instructor resources to accompany Mosby nursing textbooks.




Helene S. (Kay) Charron, MS, RN, is Professor Emeritus at Monroe Community College in Rochester, New York, and a partner in Initiatives in Nursing Education. Specializing in psychiatric nursing and professional development and leadership, she has received a number of awards for innovation in nursing education. An expert in test item writing, she has also written more than 40 interactive educational software programs for nursing.




Jean Foret Giddens PhD, APRN-BC, is Associate Professor in the College of Nursing at the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, New Mexico, with 22 years of teaching experience. Not only has she been an NCLEX-RN exam writer, she has written workbooks, textbooks, electronic media, and articles for professional nursing journals. She also teaches test construction and evaluation in the UNM nursing education program.




Pat Nugent, RN, AAS, BS, MS, EdM, EdD, is President of Nugent Books Inc., and Adjunct Professor at Nassau Community College, Garden City, New York. An RN for 42 years and a testing and evaluation consultant, her areas of expertise include the fundamentals of nursing, medical/surgical nursing, and testing and evaluation.





Margi Schultz, Ph.D., MSN, RN, has been Assistant Director, Nursing Division, GateWay Community College, Phoenix, Arizona, for the past six years. She also spent 11 years working as an ICU staff nurse and as a critical care educator. Currently she teaches nursing theory, fundamentals, leadership, and research, and specializes in distance and hybrid education. She has contributed to pharmacology and fundamentals texts, and plans to begin work on an NCLEX online review project.



Linda Anne Silvestri, MSN, RN, developed the Saunders Pyramid to Success, a series of products offering a unique and comprehensive review program. In addition to helping thousands of nursing graduates pass the NCLEX examination, she's an experienced nurse and has taught nursing for more than 20 years. Now a nursing instructor at Salve Regina University in Newport, Rhode Island, she's an expert on test construction and item writing for nursing exams. She's also president of Nursing Reviews, Inc. and Professional Nursing Seminars, Inc. Her numerous review books include the bestselling Saunders Comprehensive Review for the NCLEX-RN Examination and Saunders Strategies for Success for the NCLEX-RN Examination.


Sue Thacker is Professor of Nursing, Wytheville Community College, Wytheville, Virginia, with 30 years of teaching experience. She is a contributor to two nursing texts, in addition to writing a study guide and an instructor's resource. She has also taught the maternal/newborn section of NCLEX review courses for many years.






Janith Williams, DNP, WHNP, RNC, is Community Health Coordinator and Assistant Professor of Nursing, College of Nursing and Health Sciences, The University of Texas at Tyler, with more than 20 years experience as a consultant, educator, trainer, community health advocate, and advanced practice clinician. As an author, she has contributed chapters of texts and has written articles and health promotion materials. As an educator, she has worked with graduating seniors to prepare them for NCLEX success. She co-created the sample test questions for Stanhope's Community & Public Health Nursing Practice, 6th Edition.
