For many years, Dr. Donna Walls taught in a large baccalaureate nursing program. Her areas of expertise include pediatrics, neonates, health assessment, simulation, and student retention. During her time as an instructor, Dr. Walls was actively involved in curriculum planning, served as chair for the undergraduate curriculum committee, and worked through several curriculum changes.
With a PhD in nursing education, Dr. Walls is certified as a healthcare simulation educator and has a passion for using simulation as a teaching strategy. Additionally, she is a strong advocate for active learning as it applies to adult learning theory.
Dr. Walls used many of Elsevier’s digital products in her teaching. She has extensive experience with the HESI product suite and is an advocate for using these products throughout the program to improve outcomes.
