Virtual Clinical Excursions

Laying the groundwork for clinical competence.

Virtual Clinical Excursions (VCE) is an online program that guides students through a virtual hospital where the patients are real and their conditions are constantly changing.

Each lesson has a textbook reading assignment and activities based on "visiting" the patients in the hospital — providing a perfect environment for students to "practice" what they learn.

Experience Working in an Average Clinical Rotation

By immersing students in a realistic, yet safe, nursing environment, VCE allows them to get acclimated to the routine and rigors of the average clinical rotation where they can:
  • Conduct a complete assessment of a patient
  • Set priorities for care
  • Collect, analyze and interpret data
  • Prepare and administer medications
  • Reach conclusions about complex problems
