• NEW appendix called "At the Clinic" (new Appendix 2) will present medical scenarios crafted based on material covered in the text, engaging students in real world clinical practice. In addition to the scenario, a section of multiple-choice questions will reinforce learning. • NEW feature called "Highlight on X" within chapters and in each section of Body Systems appendix (Appendix 1) will highlight one condition related to content presented on the page (e.g., afib, diabetes, inflammatory bowel disease) and provide additional insight into the pathology, treatment, and health promotion associated with each. • UPDATED content on quickly-evolving conditions (e.g., diagnosis/treatment of cancer, obesity, heart disease, robotic surgery) will be updated and incorporated throughout the text. Content, where applicable, will also expand to include health promotion. • EXPANDED immunity content in current Appendix 2 (will be Appendix 3 in 10e) will be updated, and vaccination content will be broadened to include updated vaccination development as well as immunological treatment of cancer. • ENHANCED chapter exercises, wherein clinically-relevant questions will be increased to expand student exposure to medical practice application. • UPDATED images throughout the book, including improved clinical photos of procedures and conditions.
