Christine Gouveia

While at Elsevier, Dr. Christine Gouveia was Vice President of Applied Learning Sciences and lead research initiatives examining the effectiveness and impact of Elsevier’s digital solutions.

For over 20 years, Dr. Gouveia has sought to improve educational outcomes for students through her leadership roles in a variety of industry settings in PreK-12 and higher education. She was also an instructor at the University of Pennsylvania and an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Cornell University. Throughout her career, she has applied academic research and evidence-based learning strategies to educational products, programs, and services. Her research focuses on the social, emotional, and cognitive aspects of effective teaching and learning in online environments.

Dr. Gouveia has a Ph.D. and M.A. in Educational Psychology & Cognitive Science from Cornell University and an M.S. in Developmental Psychology from Columbia University.
