Tammy Pleasant
MSN-Ed, RN, CNE
Tammy is from North Carolina and has been a nurse for 39 years, with a clinical background in med-surgical and home health nursing. She received an Associate’s Degree in Nursing from Halifax Community College in Weldon, NC, followed by a BSN and a MSN in education from East Carolina University in Greenville, NC. Tammy has been a Certified Nurse Educator since 2012.
Tammy taught in an ADN program for 22 years and in an RN to BSN program part-time for 1 year prior to coming to Elsevier. Her experience as an educator in NC was varied. She worked with the NC Concept-Based Curriculum Committee to help with the development and implementation of the state-wide CBC in all ADN programs in NC. Conceptual teaching and Concept Based Curricula continue to be a passion of hers.
Tammy has been with Elsevier for 8 years, working with faculty across the US and Canada. In her role as a Senior Nursing Education Specialist, she assists nursing programs with effective implementation of Elsevier’s Digital Products. Tammy is also a thought leader for Elsevier, presenting professional development both live and virtually. She contributes to Elsevier Education with Blogs, Podcasts, and White Papers. Tammy’s passion for nursing education is evident as she works with nursing programs assisting them to shape the future of nursing with the development of safe practicing new nurses!
