Brittany Sorrell
DNP, RN
Brittany Sorrell is an Assistant Professor at Northern Kentucky University who received her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing in 2010 and started her career on a Medical-Surgical/Transitional Care unit. In 2013, she began an adjunct role teaching undergraduate clinical rotations and taught clinical for 2 large nursing programs in the Greater Cincinnati area and continued to work as a staff nurse while pursuing her Master’s of Science in Nursing Education.
After obtaining her MSN, she transitioned into a Clinical Education Specialist role at a large regional hospital where she was responsible for the education and training of 5 hospital units. While working as a Clinical Education Specialist, she continued to teach adjunct in an online setting for graduate programs. In 2019, Brittany accepted a full-time faculty position at NKU in the undergraduate nursing program and enrolled in a Doctorate of Nursing Practice program. She graduated with her Doctorate in Nursing Practice in 2020. Currently, she teaches in the undergraduate program full-time and teaches in the graduate program during the summer semester.
