Patricia S. Yoder-Wise

Author of Leading and Managing in Nursing, 8th Edition  and co-author of of The Leadership Trajectory.

Pat has been an Elsevier author and editor since 1974 when she co-author the first book on professional development (known then as staff development) with three colleagues. In 1994, Leading and Managing in Nursing was launched as the first leadership text that used color and had a different design to engage learners more actively. She serves as Editor in Chief of The Journal of Continuing Education in Nursing.

She has worked in nursing leadership in practice and educational settings as well as held many state and national elected and appointed positions in nursing organizations. Included in those positions were: President, National League for Nursing, CGEAN (now the Association of Leadership Science in Nursing), the American Nurses Credentialing Center and the Texas Nurses Association. She has also served as Treasurer of the American Academy of Nursing. She is a Fellow in the American Academy of Nursing, the Academy of Nursing Education and the American Organization for Nursing Leadership. She is also a co-founder of The National Collaborative for Transition to Practice and The Nurses Legacy Institute.
