2016 Entry Form ELSIE Awards

Elsevier Leading Stars In Education

To show our ongoing commitment to nursing education, Elsevier, the world's leading health science publisher, is pleased to announce our fifth annual ELSIE Awards. These awards recognize the work of outstanding nursing educators who show exceptional skill, innovation, and effectiveness in regards to promoting student learning, professionalism, and self-confidence, as well as improving general student and program outcomes using creative teaching strategies. Entries will be reviewed and judged by a panel of experienced nursing education professionals.

Categories

  • Active Learning in the Classroom — Educators strive to make the classroom a more exciting place to learn. Innovative educators have flipped the classroom to help students work together to not only acquire knowledge, but also to learn how to apply their knowledge as a practicing nurse. Do you know a faculty member who has developed unique strategies to actively engage students in the classroom?
  • Clinical Education — Time in the clinical environment is precious and faculty need to make the most of students’ time in those settings. Developing strategies to better prepare and debrief students, while helping nursing staff better understand how to help aspiring nurses, requires creativity and dedication. Do you know a clinical faculty member determined to make each clinical encounter a valuable and memorable learning experience for students?
  • Simulation — Simulation helps students better understand the care of patients with complex health issues in situations they may not be exposed to in clinicals. Nursing educators using simulation are instrumental in teaching students real-world patient care in safe environments using low- and high-fidelity simulation experience and electronic health record documentation. Do you know a dynamic faculty member or lab coordinator who has used simulation to inspire students and make an impact on student outcomes?

If you know educators that fit the bill for any of these categories, reward their dedication by submitting an award nomination.
