Nationally recognized as an expert in nursing education and medical-surgical/gerontological nursing, “Iggy” has a wealth of experience in education, clinical nursing, and administration. She has taught in PN, diploma, AD, and BSN programs for many years. She is also the author of the leading textbook, Medical-Surgical Nursing: Concepts for Clinical Judgment and Collaborative Care, 11th Edition. Her latest Elsevier textbook Developing Clinical Judgment for Professional Nursing and the Next-Generation NCLEX-RN® Examination is also now available.

Donna, alongside Linda Silvestri, serves as a leading NGN thought leader with Elsevier to help faculty prepare for the changes coming to the NCLEX as well as the critical need to have students patient-ready when they become new nurses. They have also recently co-authored, along with Angela Silvestri, “Strategies for Student Success on the Next Generation NCLEX® (NGN) Test Items”, a new textbook that will help students master NGN test-taking skills.

Currently, Iggy is President of DI Associates, Inc. in which she conducts local, regional, and national conferences and program consultation on such topics as curriculum transformation, active learning strategies, and evaluation methods. She has delivered over 2,000 of these presentations in all 50 states during the past 10 years.

She founded the international Boot Camp for Nurse Educators® conference, a valuable educational experience that provides an opportunity for both novice and seasoned faculty to learn about current best practices in nursing education.

In 2007, Iggy was inducted into the prestigious Academy of Nursing Education (ANEF) in recognition of her national contributions to the field of nursing education. In 2021, Iggy was inducted as a fellow into the Academy of Associate Degree Nursing.
